Winter 2017 was dismal and drab for the folks of Angus in the province of Ontario, Canada. But crummy weather only serves to fire things up at Purity Esthetics and Tanning. Literally. The salon has two fireplaces. And they’ve got nothing on the warmth and passion of owner Julia MacLeod. “People will come in and say, ‘Oh, it’s horrible out’ and as soon as they do, I just flip into another gear and say ‘Well, come on in and get some sun with us! Don’t worry about it; you’re in a nice warm place.’” She’s quick to make customers understand that fireplaces are the only things burning in her salon, too.
