Only 16 percent thought people are still listening to the hyperbole. \u201cWe\u2019ve been saying for years that cosmetic dermatology continues to \u2018creep\u2019 their message even further \u2014 blinded by the tens of millions of dollars they receive from chemical sunscreen companies who profit from making people think every light photon damages the body,\u201d Smart Tan Vice President Joseph Levy said. \u201cAnd the cosmetic derm industry \u2013 driving people to its doors with scare tactics \u2014 didn\u2019t see a financial reason to suddenly get a conscience either. It\u2019s a perfect recipe for the corner they\u2019ve painted themselves into.\u201d Smart Tan continues to promote a balanced, science-driven message of sunburn prevention for all rather than sun avoidance.
