On the road in Florida, the Detroit Red Wings scheduled an early practice Wednesday, allowing players time to get outside and soak up some vitamin D to help reenergize them for their Thursday game.<\/p>\n

“Our nutrition gal said they’re going to get more vitamin D today than they can get out of any bottle,” coach Mike Babcock told the Detroit Free Press<\/em>. “This is what we planned. We knew we’d have a slow start to practice. We got energized as it went on. They can have an energy afternoon. Let’s get ready. We want to have a good road trip. We got one out of a possible two, we need three out of four.”<\/p>\n
