Six months after discharge from the hospital, 29 percent of vitamin D deficient patients had died, while all patient with normal levels were still living.<\/p>\n<p>Also, sixty-five percent of the vitamin D deficient patients had a poor neurological outcome, compared to just 23% of those with vitamin D levels in the normal range.
