Business owners and entrepreneurs — most people think these terms are interchangeable. Isn’t every business owner an entrepreneur? The answer is no. The definition of an entrepreneur is “a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk; an employer of productive labor.”<\/p>\n

In my opinion, the key phrases in that definition are “considerable initiative” and “productive labor.” A business owner typically runs and manages a business with little or no innovation, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Owning and running a small business provides an income that supports your family and is part of the American dream.<\/p>\n

Far too often, business owners fail to grow in new directions, which may cause them to close down. Your business is a living, breathing thing; it needs to grow, adapt and change with the times.<\/p>\n
