In 2013, nail technician Sanchera Glubis was eager to create the ultimate beauty destination. She wanted to provide a place where women could come in and have all of their beauty needs met. Passionate about making people feel better, she opened High Class Tanning and Esthetics. As time went on, she added more components to her salon. Beginning with tanning, she gradually added nail, hair, waxing and makeup services, an infrared sauna and protein supplements. But Sanchera never strays from her first love \u2013 tanning. During the weekend of March 11, she hosted her annual free tanning weekend with all sorts of deals and prizes, including a trip for two to the Bahamas. In this Smart Tan exclusive interview, Sanchera discusses the free tanning weekend:<\/p>\n
Our free tanning weekend was awesome and we had a very good turn out. We had balloons up and a \u201cFree Tanning Weekend\u201d banner that got a lot of clients\u2019 attention. We were very busy, even despite the pouring rain outside. We also gained a lot of new clients.<\/p>\n
I worked the entire weekend with my employees to ensure that all of the duties were not thrown on their shoulders foot traffic as high as it gets in the store. It’s also important for clients to see the owner \u2013 especially new clients.<\/p>\n
We offered packages 20 per cent off, lotions up to 40 per cent off and 50 per cent off of spray tans. I worked the counter and handled the transactions. One employee cleaned beds, while another helped with drawings and other activities.<\/p>\n
We also gave away a trip for two to the Bahamas. The winner was a man named Kasey. He was happy and shocked, saying, \u201cWhat? Really? That is so awesome! Thank you, I really appreciate it!\u201d<\/p>\n
We gave away free lotion packets to every client. We also held a drawing for BC Children’s hospital \u2013 if you donate any amount of money you are then entered to win a gift basket. The winner was a woman named Danielle, and we got a total of $342 this year.
