Well, 2016 certainly brought us lots of interesting news to focus on, but the majority of that news in Canada was NOT related to the Indoor Sunshine industry \u2013 for once! It was nice for a change to be able to get through a 12 month cycle without and major anti tanning blitz.<\/p>\n

This is, of course, as a result of the almost national adoption of the under-18 tan ban \u2013 we are no longer hot news! Slowly but surely we are seeing UV tanning dollars come back and stabilize, and when that UV revenue is added to the diverse menu of services many salons are offering nowadays, all sign point to a healthy 2017.<\/p>\n

Now, that doesn\u2019t mean we should drop our guard — quite the opposite actually! Now is the time to join the JCTA and fully engage in our industry’s success. If you are reading this article, you made it! The professional salons that are operating in Canada today need to work together to ensure our new found stability is not short lived. We must continue to build our scientific argument as well as maintain our political efforts via provincial lobbying. These will be crucial to our ability to thrive moving forward.<\/p>\n

The one thing I know for sure is that tanning industry folks are tough, resilient and hard working; this is not the time to stand on the sidelines.
