Bruce Jenner — the 1976 U.S. Olympic Decathlon Champion who transitioned from American athletic hero into a successful business and entertainment icon — told Smart Tan Magazine this month he’s excited to share his energetic story with the indoor tanning community in October.

Jenner is the keynote speaker at the opening general session at Smart Tan Downtown, the North American tanning industry’s largest convention Oct. 19-21 in Downtown Nashville. Jenner speaks Saturday, Oct. 20 at 8 a.m. Finding your inner champion at Smart Tan’s Business Boot Camp is the business-fitness theme of this year’s conference.

Unlike many Olympic champions who experience a flickering moment in the limelight, Jenner was in a position to utilize the momentum of his success in business and the entertainment industry.

“Transitioning from one role in life to another is always tough but exciting. For me, after I won the gold medal at the Olympic games in 1976, I had no clue what I was going to do the next day,” says Jenner. “I wasn’t sure if I should work out or what I should do. Lucky for me, that difficult transition has led to what I am doing today, and I love where I am now in my career,” Jenner told Smart Tan Magazine.
