An update Monday to the “Nearby” feature on Facebook will impact the way consumers find your business using the social network giant, as described in an article from Entrepreneur.com. This feature is used to find local businesses via mobile devices, and listings will now be based upon feedback from the people’s Facebook friends.
Components that will affect search results will include recommendations, where friends can rate a business from 1 to 5, as well as the places where friends have previously checked in. Unlike many review apps, one must have “checked in” to a business before they can rate it. Results will become more personalized the more friends recommend, rate and check into places.
