Kansas salon The Midas Touch Golden Tans partnered with Devoted Creations last month to offer clients the best in tanning skin care for its annual Free Tan Weekend.  The weekend sale has been the keystone to the salon’s success over the last 11 years, and this year was no exception. The staff at The Midas Touch sold more than 280 bottles of lotion over the weekend.

Each year the salon tries to create a party atmosphere for clients to enjoy. This year, Lewis Henry, president of Devoted Creations, Bobby Wagner, sales manager of JK Light, and Kevin Apgar, president of Cosmedico were able to join Midas Touch owner, Darrell Ringler, for a weekend of fun. The weekend featured live radio remotes, giveaways including a free tanning bed, live music in the parking lot, free hot dogs, and general mayhem & laughs.

The biggest buzz for the weekend sale was for the newly released Spiked and Seductive by Devoted Creations. Product specials for the weekend included a free bottle of Guiltless Glamour with any purchase from the Devoted Creations Color Rush collection, 25 to 50 percent off the Devoted Creations H.I.M. and Believe in Pink collections and buy-two-get-one-free on the So Naughty Nude collection. Weekend specials on tanning included the popular “Tan Til 2014,” “buy one month, get 10 days free,” “buy eight tans, get five free,” and free activation on EFT memberships.

Overall, 809 clients tanned at The Midas Touch over the two days and 81 of them were brand new clients. Offering free tans and huge specials can be a bit overwhelming, but the business that it generates catapults the salon into busy season with a “bang!” The two-day sale tallied in more revenue than some entire months of the year, making Free Tan Weekend The Midas Touch’s biggest and best promotion of the year.
