JunkScience.com founder Steve Milloy last week posted critiques of two anti-tanning news columns that were filled with inaccurate statements.

Milloy initially responded to an editorial by financial executive and former Obama administration official Peter Orszag, titled Young White Women, Killing Themselves by Tanning. Milloy reposted the article on JunkScience.com, with his notes added to point out the many factual flaws throughout the article, including incorrect statements about UV intensity, cancer risk, and more. Click here to read Milloy’s response.

Milloy also made another post in direct response to the title of the piece – explaining, with statistics, graphs, and charts why it is untrue and inappropriate. “This Peter Orszag screed against tanning was debunked yesterday but we overlooked the headline, which ran again in today’s Miami Herald,” Milloy wrote before explaining the lack of factual basis for the headline. Click here to read that post.
