As the co-founder and CEO of Sun Tan City, Rick Kueber takes pride in keeping the franchise’s over 275 locations on the cutting edge of the indoor tanning industry. Most recently, this has meant a major overhaul in technology as Sun Tan City introduces a new way for customers to interact with the brand. Kueber shares their latest innovation:
This is a great time to address what’s going on behind the scenes at Sun Tan City, because we are wiling to share a look into what few people — including many of our franchisees — have seen at this stage of development.
We are in phase-one testing of My Sun Tan City, a game-changing website and phone app, which should be rolled out chain-wide no later than July. It encompasses a number of things: Customers can go online and update their credit card information; upgrade, downgrade or freeze memberships; and they can manage their account online instead of always having to go to the store.
The technology also addresses one of our biggest struggles, which was about having to wait for a session. My Sun Tan City allows people to see wait times in any level of equipment at any store within 20 miles. They can click on the store and put themselves in a virtual line for the equipment of their choice before they even come into the store. Now they can skip the wait and just check in at the front desk. Our front desk person will be able to see that they checked in online.
