Question: Is it okay for a non-profit cancer education and prevention charity to develop a sun care campaign saying, essentially, that tanning is as harmful as smoking cigarettes, even if the facts suggest otherwise? Is it okay to fill that campaign with more than a dozen other statements that have been refuted by conflicting or confounding information without referencing the confounding material? Is it okay if their presentation of the facts isn’t balanced if they believe their cause is correct?
Boil it down, and that’s what 68 percent of the tanning salons in Nebraska’s largest tanning markets, Omaha and Lincoln, have asked a court to decide.
