Golden Tans Steal the Show at Golden Globes
The Revenant was the standout motion picture at last weekend’s Golden Globe Awards, winning three awards, but something else that had to have stood out to the millions of television viewers was the spectacular, deep tans shown off on the red carpet and stage.
“Bronzed from a tropical vacation or thanks to a serious spray tan session?” said a Yahoo Beauty article about the event. “Only these celebs know the secret to their golden glow, but tans were a big beauty trend at the 2016 Golden Globes. It’s a look that was just as popular with men as women, with Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio looking just as sun-kissed as Heidi Klum and Rosie Huntington Whitley.”
At this point, with advancements in sunless equipment formulas and technology, it can be tough to distinguish between a sunless tan and one from laying in the sun or a sunbed. However, the Yahoo Beauty report suggests that many of the stars — including Kate Hudson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Pitt — sported a natural tans gleaned from sunny vacations. The article says of Pitt:
“The actor is looking particularly bronzed tonight, but did he get an airbrush tan, or did he opt for a bit of vitamin D?” the Yahoo Beauty article said. “Us Weekly reports that he took a Thai vacation to a Hindu temple at the Amanpuri beach resort.”
Whether they’re natural or sunless, it’s good to have a reminder that a dark bronze glow remains in vogue.
