After his auto parts store closed due to a corporate sellout, Darrell Ringler was wondering what his next business move would be. When a fellow franchisee invited him to visit his tanning salon in Ohio, he spent a few days learning about the industry and was spellbound.
“I returned to the salon with my two girls and a couple others. We spent four or five days there going through the nuts and bolts of running a tanning salon successfully. When we returned to Kansas, I started taking my daughters and their friends to major cities with tanning salons. WE kept a log of what we did and didn’t like about the places and concentrated on the positives. Them, in 2002, we opened The Midas Touch Golden Tans,” says Darrell.
Far surpassing tanners’ basic expectations, The Midas Touch staff goes above and beyond to ensure their customers and community look and feel good. After 14 years in business, the brand has become a staple in their Emporia Kansas community due to their positive efforts to go beyond the tan — they’re in the business of building a Midas Touch family.
