Mike Neagle, CEO of Argo Networks, started his love affair with computers nearly 25 years ago as an intern in high school, working with the school system on large networks and mainframes. He later worked for a reputable internet service provider for eight years before leaving to start his own business. He started out working with a local tanning salon chain, Sun Tan City, that at that time was a mere 11 locations and is now close to 275. As Sun Tan City grew, they also increased Argo’s buzz for their services, expanding them nationwide and to part of Canada. In this Smart Tan exclusive interview, Mike Neagle discusses their Salon360 analytics tool and how it can help you improve your business.
Q: Why is it crucial for tanning salons to have a system such as Salon360?
A: Knowledge is power. I always ask salon owners who they feel their top sales person is, and they will give me a name. Once we go in and run the data, sometimes they aren’t even in the top five. The person they feel is their best isn’t, which isn’t fair, and the bigger issue is that the top five people aren’t getting the recognition. If they’re not getting the proper recognition, why should they stay?
