As the threat of COVID-19 begins to diminish, life and business will gradually gravitate closer to normal, but some of the effects will stick around and become part of a “new normal.” It’s undoubtedly a difficult time to remain optimistic, but there is reason to believe that this “new normal” will include the opportunity for professional tanning businesses to come back stronger than ever.
In our Smart Tan Magazine May issue cover feature, we’re sharing some perspective on the ways our culture will be altered, and how some salon owners are preparing for an uncertain future in which clients will have heightened concerns about the people, places and things they interact with. Most directly, that relates to cleaning and sanitation practices, and the way we show and tell clients what we’re doing to make them feel as comfortable as possible in our businesses. But, the implications also go much deeper than that. In an era of amplified sensitivity, comforting our consumers will require much more than a spotless environment. Education and professionalism will also come to the forefront.
