NOV. 9, 2009 — A majority of tanning facility owners believe that 2010 will be better for the tanning business than 2009, according to a SmartTan.com poll conducted in November.

According to the poll, 63 percent look for the market to be better in 2010, while fewer than 2 in 10 think it will be worse — just 19 percent. Another 19 percent felt the market would be about the same next year as this year.

“Optimism still prevails in the tanning market if you look at all the polls we’ve taken this year,” Smart Tan Vice President Joseph Levy said. “The discussions we’ve had with members back that up as well – the fourth generation of ownership in the tanning market is better positioned for the next boom in tanning.”
