Urban Sun will be celebrating its eighth anniversary by hosting a red carpet event to benefit the American Heart Association. The event is scheduled to take place February 18-20 and will have plenty of ways to support the San Diego American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign.

There will be a “Red Raffle” where participants will have a chance to win gift baskets filled with tanning goodies with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Go Red for Women campaign. Urban Sun will also be offering coupon books with all proceeds going to the cause.

“February is National Heart Health month and it’s a natural fit for us to support a women’s cause. It’s important to promote a healthy lifestyle and give back to our community,” says Danielle Suriano, owner of Urban Sun.

According to the Go Red for Women Web site, 1 in 3 women die each year from heart disease, making it the number one killer of women. The site also states eighty percent of cardiac events in women may be prevented if they make the right choices for their hearts, involving diet, exercise and abstinence from smoking. Money donated to the cause goes to support public and professional education as well as research.

Urban Sun is located in San Diego, California and has been in operation since 2003.
