A leading expert on cancer prevention has once again slammed North America’s two largest cancer organizations for failing to focus on cancer prevention efforts like vitamin D sufficiency and instead squandering donor and taxpayer money on pharmaceutical-oriented cancer treatment programs.

Dr. Samuel Epstein — perhaps North America’s most decorated figure on the politics of cancer prevention — launched new attacks on the U.S. National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society in his new book, “National Cancer Institute and American Cancer Society: Criminal Indifference to Cancer Prevention and Conflicts of Interest.” Epstein is the author of the oft-cited, “The Politics of Cancer” and is an internationally recognized authority on avoidable causes of cancer in air, water, consumer products, and the workplace.
