“Over half of Facebook users respond to social media marketing,” the headline of a ZDnet article reads.
Facebook outranks several other social media sites, like Twitter and LinkedIn, when it comes to interacting with their favorite brands online. This means that people are much more likely to recommend these brands to friends once they’ve “liked” them on Facebook.
This is big news for salon owners because if one of your customers “likes” you on Facebook, they are more likely to tell friends and you are more likely to get new customers. The study found that “45 percent of consumers said they spend most of their time on Facebook in the News Feed,” meaning there is little effort on you or your client’s part to draw new customers in.
Don’t neglect your Facebook Page because users are going to spend a lot of time on Facebook, making it the perfect opportunity for you to reach out to customers and build a solid following. Consumers like it when you tell them what’s happening at your salon and don’t have to seek you out, so having a Facebook Page is useless if you never use it. Try to post something new on Facebook a few times a week so that your updates will pop up in News Feeds and keep you fresh in customer minds.
