The average price-per-session for UV tanning increased in 2011 in 39 percent of tanning businesses, according to the results of a SmartTan.com poll conducted in October.

According to the poll, 39 percent increased their price-per-session average in 2011 over 2010, while another 40 percent said their PPS remained the same in that period. Only one in five — 20 percent — said their PPS decreased in 2011.

“Many of the successful business models in the market right now involve higher-value packages with more options and the clients are willing to pay for that level of service,” Smart Tan Vice President Joseph Levy said. “This poll is a reflection of that trend.”
