A majority of indoor tanning businesses report that 2011 met or exceeded their business expectations, according to a SmartTan.com poll conducted in the past two weeks.

According to the poll, 59 percent say their business performance met or exceeded expectations for 2011 — with 34 percent reporting that the year exceeded expectations. That’s consistent with results of similar SmartTan.com polls conducted throughout the year.

The tanning market continues to be bullish on the future. A December SmartTan.com poll showed that 71 percent of the tanning market feels better about the future of the tanning community today than they did a year ago — a great sign heading into the 2012 tanning season.
