Thirty tanning business owners won more than $100,000 in prizes in the “Deal or Deal” prize give-away game show that closed Smart Tan’s 15th Annual Convention, Smart Tan Downtown, Sunday afternoon in downtown Nashville.
The three-day conference and two-day trade show — Smart Tan’s 15th annual convention — attracted more than 2,000 tanning retailers from across North America. The Smart Tan conference included dozens of workshop sessions on every aspect of salon operations, a foundation program introducing Smart Tan’s 2011 plan for salon marketing and keynote speaker Bill Rancic, winner of Donald Trump’s first “The Apprentice” program.
The trade show floor included every major supplier in the tanning market and was larger than the 2009 event. Smart Tan donated $20,000 from event proceeds to the Indoor Tanning Association’s state advocacy fund and $20,000 to the independent Sunlight Institute. Dr. Marc Sorenson, founder of the Sunlight Institute, was an invited featured speaker at the event.
