— Kim Stern, owner of #1 Sun Tanning Salon in Iowa City, Iowa, commenting on a line of tanners at her flagship store Monday evening despite the fact that temperatures in Eastern Iowa plummeted below zero with winds gusting up to 40 miles per hour. If bitter temperatures and high winds weren’t enough to discourage patrons, Iowa City was getting 4 inches of snow overnight, which combined with snowfall over the weekend led officials to declare a Snow Emergency downtown.
