An Ontario Santa Claus parade this year turned into positive publicity for indoor tanning, thanks to a parade float sponsored by an Ontario tanning franchisee.

Glen and Tanya Dodsworth, who own two Fabutan franchise locations in Cambridge, Ont., about 50 miles southwest of Toronto, entered a float into the televised parade – complete with a tan snowman. The float got several minutes of televised discussion.

“I guess the whole tanning thing is something that people look forward to in the colder, darker winter months,” one TV host said while complimenting the float.

“Well, isn’t that what we’re lacking when the sun goes away — the vitamin D and that feeling of warmth?” the other host replied. The two hosts agreed that UV is the best source of vitamin D.
