“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” That is a quote by Wayne Dyer that really hit home for me when I came across it. I will be honest; I came across it on Instagram and, probably just like your feed, mine is loaded with quotes. Usually, I just skim over the quotes and pretty much reading only every other word, but this quote I read again and then again. Here’s why: This past year has been crazy and this quote really sums up the improvements I personally made in 2020/2021.

Our industry is part of the craziness that happened. We first had to deal with the shutdowns and other mandates, and now you might be facing backorders and staffing issues, to name just a couple. How many feel 2021 is the hangover of 2020? I feel that way too. But now it’s time to move forward and open our eyes to new avenues. There were a lot of hard lessons learned but also new growth that we can use to stay successful. I would like to share a few of these lessons with you. Keep in mind, this isn’t some hocus pocus feel good article but three real-life circumstances during Covid-19  I had to stop looking at everything the way I used to and learn how to reevaluate what we were doing.  .

Before we go any further, I first want to add this disclaimer because you need to have to right attitude if you are going to start changing the way you look at things. No matter what, you always need to keep moving forward. It is that attitude that will tell your brain to start looking for opportunities you haven’t or couldn’t see before. Being able to do this will help you look at every aspect of your business with a fresh set of eyes.
