With involvement from professional athletes and other indoor tanning industry leaders, Devoted Creations, last month, held a charity golf tournament, raising more than $11,000 for the Cardiac Kids Foundation of Florida.
Philanthropic industry leaders from Four Seasons Sales and Services, Suntan Supply, Performance Brands, House of Tans and South Beach Tanning Company joined Devoted Creations and community leaders for the Winter Classic Golf Tournament to help raise awareness and funds for Cardiac Kids, which provides assistance to families and their children with heart disease.
In attendance were professional football players Kay Jay Harris, Reidel Anthony, and Darrell Jackson as well as major league baseball player Gary Sheffield. Autographed jerseys, footballs, baseballs, and more were donated by the Tampa Bay Lightning, Buccaneers and Rays. All of the items were auctioned at the end of the golf tournament to the highest bidder.
“Our staff all had a great time at the golf tournament and felt honored to be part of such an amazing event. Meeting two survivors touched all of our hearts and we hope to get more people involved for the next event!” said Kelli Lookabaugh, owner of House of Tans.
The tournament had 36 hole sponsors and took place on Dec. 7 at Sherman Hills Golf Course in Brooksville, Fla.
