GQ Magazine provided the world with a fascinating glimpse into the life of a celebrity spray tan artist as part of its “Raise Your Game” series on successful professionals from various walks of life.

Dante Fitzgerald of Beach Bum Tanning is the self proclaimed “beast on the east ” coast of spray tanning, and his resume of celebrity clients definitely backs that up. You may remember actor Chris Pratt’s shoutout to Dante in his acceptance speech at the Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards. He says his client list also includes Isla Fisher, Seth MacFarlane, Lady Gaga, Lindsay Lohan, Sia, Lance Bass, Kelly Osbourne, Paris Hilton, Clay Aiken, Anderson Cooper, Sam Rockwell, Bella Thorne, Demi Lovato, and more.

“No matter who you’re spraying—you could be spraying the most famous person in the world – the one thing that everyone has in common is: when the clothes come off, it’s maximum vulnerability. People are self-conscious about their bodies, especially famous people,” he says of his experiences with celebs.

Dante also discusses his spray techniques, strategies for getting nervous clients to relax and some of his more…interesting experiences on the job.
