As I reflect on the past year and world events, It excites me at how far we have come in such a short period of time. Although most small businesses are not performing at pre pandemic numbers, statistics show that we are on the right side of correction and the indoor tanning industry is poised to continue to perform stronger as people become more educated on the benefits of Vitamin D and how and where to get it.

The mere fact that our clients visit us for so many different reasons is contributing to our recovery. We are seeing a significant increase in pre-tanners, and those who will not be vacationing this year are coming back to get that glow and feeling of a good vacation. The process of the tan is as important as the outcome, so having salons sparkling clean with a spa like feel, and equipment in perfect working condition will be particularly important, as will be the service delivery itself.

It is expected that industry growth will be slow and steady over the next five years as economic recovery continues. This is particularly exciting for our industry as we continue to provide new offerings and products based on consumer demand.

Industry educational events have also resumed and are important to our industry growth. Don’t be left behind, take in as much and as many events as you can, and if new equipment is on the horizon for you, remember we are not exempt from supply chain shortages, order early and expect lengthy waits for arrival.

Our future looks bright and slow steady growth will ensure we can keep up and meet the demands of our clients and industry alike.
