There are far more marketing options to consider, but you can actually achieve more by using less of them. Don’t be intimidated by all the alternatives. Simply focus on the methods that will have the most impact.

Today, the reach and efficiency of digital marketing provides better value than most forms of traditional marketing. And, while you could spend an infinite amount of time trying to reach your customers by posting for free on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, you can save all that time by putting just a little money into the right platforms.

Meanwhile, despite all the technological advancement, “word of mouth” is still the best marketing there is. Some of that happens naturally, but you can amplify the results by putting some effort into it with some simple, “old-school,” grassroots marketing strategies.

If you want to grow your business, now is the time to capitalize. Advertising and offering deals to get your customers through your doors during the offseason is a great plan, but now is when you can really turn all your impressions and connections into revenue. Bringing in new customers is the best way to make more money, and now is the best time to do it.

“I spend the bulk of my advertising budget February through July, throughout tanning season,” says Claytin Williams, owner of Fierce Tanning in Ohio. “In the heart of busy season, we’re really pushing advertising, especially with offers that are too good to refuse or free tan weeks. That’s when most people are willing to go tanning. That’s when you’re going to get people that are willing to tan longer than 30 days before vacation. It’s easier to sign those members up during season and hope you can keep them.”
