Brad Blair, Pacific Tanning

With two tanning salons, a lotion company and a multitude of other projects on his schedule, Brad Blair does a little more than keep busy. His dedication to learning from every experience allows his endeavors outside the salon to keep the business fresh with new insight. Brad shares his inspiration behind the Body Décor lotion line and the Tan Body Scan app:

I started Body Décor because I saw a lot of good lotions out there but I wanted to start something where I could work with salons to spread positive information about tanning. It’s a good moneymaker and I knew it would benefit my salon, but the positive feedback we get here helps us give suggestions to other salons on specials or promotions. I wanted to provide a line that combined price with quality. In the end it’s all about making the guest happy in your salon.

Part of the problem with our industry is that we’re not presenting information the right way through our staff. The Body Tan Scan app has been a way for us to present a community of salons while sharing information about skin type. Salons that get added to the app can feature specials for their clients. There’s even a game called Vitamin D Attack where you can earn a special by accumulating points. We tried to make it so there was a value to the app for clients.
