Member of the Month Keeps it ‘All in the Family’

Vision boards. Persistence. Passion. A dream.

All of these things led to her dream coming true in  2012, when owner Lynn Graham bought a tanning salon. After years of spray tanning, she and her daughters were finally able to turn their dream into a reality. In a few days’ time, they gutted the entire salon and transformed it into Max Tan, where they provide “beauty without the beach,” as they say.

They advertised that the salon had been taken over by new owners, but that wasn’t what started the immediate foot traffic — it was their customer service. Their kindness and passion for the business shined through and people were enticed by the rarity of this. Graham’s daughter, Megan Gill, credits the success to her mother the hear and soul of Max Tan.

“Without my mother, we wouldn’t be here. She taught me the morals and values of owning a small business. My mom is so beautiful and kind, and people were coming in just to talk to her. We actually had to hire someone during the day because people were talking to my mom so much,” says Gill.

From their staff to the notes on the mirrors, everything in Max Tan is positive. They aren’t just in the business of tanning people. Their mission is to transform a customer’s day and create a culture of warmth that extends beyond the tanning bed.
