About half of the indoor tanning market feels more positive about the future today than they did a year ago, according to a SmartTan.com poll conducted in August – another sign that the sunbed community is facing adversity and moving forward.

According to the SmartTan.com poll, 49 percent are more positive about the future of the market in August 2012 than they were in August 2011 — eclipsing the 41 percent who are not more positive today. Ten percent saw no difference.

“The evolution of the tanning community is continuing, and there are models that are building and moving forward,” Smart Tan Executive Director Joseph Levy said. “The level of acumen in this market today is higher than ever — there are some great success stories being carved out of a challenging few years.”
