As the Vice President of Sales at PC Tan, Paul Manke can’t express enough how much he loves helping salons grow. Joining PC Tan in 1997, Paul works with manufacturers to deliver quality products to salon owners. Paul loves going beyond his traditional job duties to ensure that salons are successful. In a Smart Tan exclusive interview, he shares his views on the importance of updating your salon with new units.

Q: What are the most important benefits that new equipment provides?

A: The biggest benefit for the consumer is the individuality and ease of selection that the new models provide. Some of our newest models, such as the KBL 6800, have a glass touch pad for pre-selection. You are able to choose the type and output of UVB; change the MP3 internal or external music settings; allow or mute the voice confirmations, and the select if you’d like air conditioning, body mist and aroma. Overall, clients can decided exactly what options they’d prefer with newer units and are able to receive their ideal tanning experience.

For salon owners, it would be ease of maintenance. A lot of stores have darker lighting to create a lounge-like ambiance. However, when the staff foes into the bottom of the bed to change something, they often can’t see very well. To aid the maintenance process for staff and salon owners, we’ve put LED lighting in the bottom of the newer beds. When the base opens up there is service bay lighting, so it’s easy to visually access what you need beneath the bed.
