Palm Beach Tan, the nation’s largest chain of indoor tanning salons, announced that the company raised over $86,000 to be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
During the month of October, local Palm Beach Tan salons joined 286 participating Palm Beach Tan locations across 26 states encouraging members to make a donation to St. Jude to join in the fight against cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. Palm Beach Tan salons joined other retailers nationwide in St. Jude’s annual Pin Up a Pumpkin for St. Jude fundraiser, in which customers donated a dollar to pin a paper pumpkin to the wall of the store with their name featured.
To encourage larger donations, Palm Beach Tan offered customers a discount on skincare products equal to the amount of their donations. The store manager who raised the most money won the honor of traveling to Memphis with a guest and Palm Beach Tan executives to personally present the check to St. Jude officials and receive a VIP tour of the hospital. The winning store manager, who raised $3,267.00, comes from Vancouver, Wash. and will be visiting the hospital in early January for the check presentation ceremony.
The company set a goal of raising $50,000 for the month-long program. The contest ended Oct. 31 and raised a total of $86,031 to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“We are thrilled with the outpouring of donations,” said Diane Lucas, president and CEO of Palm Beach Tan. “St. Jude Hospital has become a passion for our corporate team, our store teams and our franchisees. Over the past four years, we have proudly donated over $250,000.00 to the wonderful children of St. Jude.”
