Podz Eyewear & Dr. Sun have donated more than 5 percent of sales, in product and cash contributions, to breast cancer charities so far in 2013. They have also worked hard to donate their time to the effort.
Company President Christy Hogan thinks it is important as a company to always give back in some way. She strives to keep an active role in charity work, along with her employees.
“I feel as though getting involved in your community is extremely important,” says Hogan. “By giving back to a cause that means something to myself and my company, it becomes more than just sales, it’s about lives impacted.”
In recent months Podz has donated Teensy Towels to the Couture for Cancer, 1,000 Pinked Eyewear to the Natural Breast Cancer Prevention Campaign, and employee Tiffany Logue was named committee head of the Race Day and Events Committee for the Race Against Breast Cancer (RABC). Logue must dedicate time and effort throughout the year to RABC in order to make the event a great success.
Hogan feels this is a great cause and is happy to have her employee involved.
“I will always support my employees donating their time to a great cause. We are always open to ways to get involved with great causes. Helping others is something I truly enjoy doing.”
Podz Eyewear and Dr. Sun work to create innovative and exciting products for the tanning and health industries. They are located in Topeka, KS.
