More than six out of 10 tanning businesses say that they’re attracting more 40-and-over clients today, according to a SmartTan.com poll conducted this fall.
According to the poll, 63 percent of salons say their over-40 client base has increased in the past two years.
“It’s clear that people are figuring out that they need to take a balanced approach to sun care and not just shut the sun out, particularly people over 40,” Smart Tan Executive Director Joseph Levy said. “The fact that the tanning market continues to attract clients in the 40-plus demographic is evidence of that.”
