Three-out-of-four indoor tanning salon owners say that spray tanning services are becoming a bigger part of their overall business, according to a SmartTan.com poll conducted in late August and early September.
According to the poll, 75 percent say spray is a bigger part of their tanning business today than it was one year ago. Only 7 percent said spray was a smaller part of their business today, while 18 percent saw no change.
“This poll reflects what we’re seeing in the market — tanning businesses are doing a much better job today integrating spray tanning into their business mix today,” Smart Tan Vice President Joseph Levy said. “We do not interpret this poll to mean that UV tanning is any less popular. To the contrary, we believe it shows that tanning businesses are simply stronger at offering both services together.”
