Salons Turning from Yellow Pages: Poll

Only 30 percent of indoor tanning facilities report using Yellow Pages advertising to promote their businesses, according to a SmartTan.com poll conducted in February — a finding in lock-step with the movement to social media and on-line search vehicles for business development.

“Smart Tan has been working with social media and electronic communication experts to help tanning businesses learn how to use on-line business promotion tools correctly,” Smart Tan Vice President Joseph Levy said. “The new advertising platforms are emerging and changing — we want to help our members understand these. Our recent webinar series included training on this, and it will be a point of emphasis at our upcoming Smart Tan Downtown convention in Downtown Nashville this fall.”
