Kentucky-based Sun Tan City is celebrating the opening of its 200th salon with a free tanning weekend for clients March 2-4 “as a ‘thank you’ for helping to make the 200th salon a reality,” the company said in a press statement.

The chain has stores in 15 states. Its 2011 acquisition of the Tanworld franchise group and the conversion of those stores to the Sun Tan City brand fueled its most recent expansion faze.

“It took 12 years, but we finally made it to 200,” Sun Tan City founder Rick Kueber posted on facebook this morning.
