Useful Pinterest Boards for Business

Pinterest can be a beneficial marketing tool, but you need to have a strategy and purpose for each board you create and each image you pin. A recent article from Entrepreneur.com, “8 Pinterest Boards Worth Creating gor Your Business,” describes different types of Pinterest boards that can help you reach specific goals.

  1. Topics that interest your target audience. Boards about anything that interests your primary target serve the purpose of driving traffic to your profile. These types of topics can be directly related to your business, or tangentially related, like vacation, beauty, or fitness related items.
  2. Educational value. “How to” boards are very effective on Pinterest. Use content (video or print) that educates, informs or teaches to interest consumer in particular offerings and demonstrate your knowledge and expertise.
  3. Feedback for your business. Create boards that act as a virtual focus group to solicit feedback on new services or products, what your customers like or don’t like, or anything else you need to know.
  4. Upcoming events. Holding a special sale or promotional event? Pump it up with a Pinterest board, but try to not be overly spammy. Focus on the fun aspects and the benefits to consumers.
  5. New products or services. Pin information about the benefits and uses of new products and services along with deals to drive consumers in. Then, after the release, post customer comments, testimonials and pictures involving the product or service.
  6. Showcase your company culture and employees. Let people feel like a part of your business by giving them an inside look at your behind-the-scenes operations.
  7. Provide social proof. Social proof is “a psychological phenomenon where people assume the actions of others in an attempt to reflect correct behavior for a given situation,” according to Wikipedia. By profiling customers and featuring how they’re using your products and services, you can begin making you brand the norm in your community,
  8. Discussion groups. Pinterest discussion group boards are another great way to increase engagement and gain valuable feedback.
