For decades, syllabi and test scores were the currency of Pat Vernon’s career. From high school to college to adult education courses, Pat ruled the domain at the front of the classroom. among her many courses, she focused on entrepreneurs and pioneering business minds, educating them about making smart buying choices and discussing store layouts.

But when Pat started teaching adult education, the gig was only part time. Rather than allowing her sharpened skills to fall victim to the dulling force of disuse, she started working at a tanning salon. Almost immediately recognizing that she wanted to buy the business, she started learning as much as she cold. By 1996, Le Sun Club was hers.

It was more than a decade before her future partner in life and business, Larry Vernon, would come into her life. Larry spent over 20 years in the navy traveling the world. After completing his service, he retired to L.A. However, civilian life would do little to shake his Navy ways.

Since Larry and Pat first teamed up at Le Sun Club, Pat went through a knee replacement that prevented her from working in the business most days. However, Larry’s dedication to cleanliness and people skills made the transition easier, allowing Pat to focus on the administrative side of the business.

Through their 18 years in business, Le Sun Club has proven itself against the competition through excellent customer care and a passion for teaching the principles of smart tanning.
